US Naval Institute Implements knk Publishing

The US Naval Institute recently implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) and the knkPublishing software.
knkPublishing solution is 100% integrated with Dynamics NAV and certified by Microsoft.
  • From a user's perpective this means that they are working in one software solution. The knkPublishing menus and screens are seamlessly integrated into the Navision screens.
  • From the IT manager's perspective this level of integration means that there is no need to export information out of a publishing system and import it into an accounting solution.
  • From management's perspective this 100% integration means that the information in the system is always current. When information is entered into any module - be it financial or knkPublishing - information in the other modules are instantly updated.

knkPublishing - live at U.S. Naval Institute

The US Naval Institute (USNI) - a 135 year old publisher of provocative defense analysis - successfully launched knkPublishing in June 2009. Employing knk Publishing, USNI was able to bring together accounting, magazine management and advertising sales data bases.

knk Business Software AG is the only Microsoft certified partner in the world providing full integration for publishing software services. With knkPublishing, the U.S. Naval Institute benefits from a single database solution merging and streamlining the organization's business processes.

USNI's CTO Rick Woodcock on how knkPublishing will impact company profits:

"We are certain the new capability will create efficiencies. More importantly, we believe it will allow us to better fulfill the Institute's mission of providing an independent forum for international defense issue debate - by allowing us to better recruit and retain members, and sell more books, magazines, advertising, conference registrations and heritage materials.

The improved ability to smartly mine existing data will significantly increase our capabilities in marketing, production forecasting, promotional campaign tracking, book list management, production projections and more. The immediate demonstrable benefits - and additional perks we are certain will emerge in coming months - would not be available to the US Naval Institute were it not for the meticulous support and technical expertise of our support team at knk Business Software AG."

The Go-live of the knkPublishing modules "Rights, Royalties and Licenses", "Book Editorial Office & Production" and "Book Distribution" is planned to be realized in January 2010.
